About Carlsberg UK & The Marketing Store

Carlsberg UK is one of the country’s largest beer and beverage companies and part of the Carlsberg Group, the fourth largest brewer in the world. The Carlsberg Group is a Danish brewing company founded in 1847, and started exporting to the UK in 1868.

The Marketing Store is a global agency. Their creativity and consumer intelligence offer a set of bespoke participation tools that make meaningful connections with the right audiences. As well as Carlsberg, their clients include McDonalds, Adidas and Red Bull.

Their Challenge

After gaining followers who had entered their Euro 2016 #SubMeOn competition, Carlsberg and The Marketing Store needed to keep them engaged with the campaign throughout the tournament. They wanted to efficiently message these new followers in order to remind them about competitions and boost brand awareness around major beer drinking occasions during the tournament. Communication needed to be personal to suit the platform, but with thousands of people engaging with the campaign, this wasn’t a task that could be done manually.
